Do you work at a desk / computer all day? Are you stressed and full of muscular tension by the end of the day? If so, read on to discover three really easy to locate Acupressure points that can help relieve strain and tension quickly.
Location – To find this point, run your finger along the line from the prominent bone at the back of your neck (C7), to the edge of the shoulder joint. The acupressure point is located midway between the edge of your shoulder and the back of your neck. These trapezius muscles tend to accumulate a lot of tension, particularly for those who work at a desk / computer all day, or for anyone with poor posture.
Application: Using the opposite thumb or forefinger, press the point downwards as firmly as you can and hold for 30-60 seconds. Repeat on the other side. Do this as often as you need to for maximum relief of muscular tension.
Location – BL-10 is located at the back of the neck, one thumb width down from the base of the skull, and one thumb width out from the centre of your spine on your upper neck.
GB 20 is located in the hollows immediately underneath the base of your skull.
Application – Use firm, prolonged pressure, pressing slightly upwards and inward, holding for up to 2 minutes. Both of these great acupressure points release shoulder pain, neck stiffness, and tension headaches.
